The National Women’s Department announces the 2010 theme for women in the Assemblies of God: “Thirsty?” The theme verse comes from the Psalmist David who says, "I thirst for God, the living God" (Psalm 42:2, NLT).
Theme message writer Reverend Lori O'Dea writes, "John 4 captures an exchange between the Savior and a woman who encounters Him at the village well. At the heart of the conversation, Jesus touches her deepest desire, and offers living water. She does not know how to respond. Her limited understanding causes her to downsize what He presents to fit her current existence. She jumps at the idea of not having to carry water every day. He lifts the blinders that limit her vision and tenders a whole new life. He continues to reveal himself as Messiah. When she shares the good news with her village, you can almost hear the hope growing within her. Living water produces life-not just any kind of life-but the hope-filled, purpose-producing, faith-building, capacity-expanding kind of life that dares to believe God can do anything."
We offer these theme resources for you to use in sharing this message with your congregation and the women of your church. Please call us at 417.862.2781, ext. 4060, or e-mail women@ag.org, if you have further questions. Order products here online, or by calling 1.800.641.4310.
