Dealing with Women with Special Needs

  • Remember that her disability does not diminish her position with our Heavenly Father.
  • Be open-minded and sensitive to her situation. Realize she can make a significant contribution to your church's Women's Ministries program.
  • Don't assume she cannot understand clear, intelligent, verbal communication.
  • Talk to her rather than directing your comments only to her caregiver.
  • Don't pity her. She needs your love, compassion, support, and friendship.
  • Treat her just as you would any other woman in your fellowship—with dignity and respect.
  • Be sensitive to her health and endurance limitations.
