To make the Christmas season much more meaningful than tinsel, gifts, and holiday activity.
John 1:14
Many people missed the arrival of the Son of God to this world simply because they weren't looking for Him.
A. A transformation happened in a moment. "The time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son" (Luke 2:6, 7). In just a moment, God became man. In one instant, God did the impossible, to make eternal life possible for you and me
B. A future transformation. "In the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed" (1 Corinthians 15:52). The first moment of transformation, which was the birth of Christ, went unnoticed by the world. The second transformation, which is the second coming of Christ, will not go unnoticed.
C. Look up. "Stand up and lift up your heads because your redemption is drawing near" (Luke 21:28). Jesus is coming soon! Look up and don't lose the excitement of the moment by distraction with material things.
The incarnation became flesh and lived among man. Christmas is a time to reflect on the greatness of God's love.
Pray that we can give of ourselves to those in need of a Savior during this Christmas season and that we'll learn to watch for Jesus' second coming.
