Fill My Cup, Lord

I. Introduction

Prior to the meeting, write each devotional point and Scripture on separate pieces of paper. Fold and place inside cups-one cup for each point. As you speak, lift the appropriate cups, remove the paper, read the Scripture and comment.

God has prepared many blessings for His children. Every day He pours into our lives some of these benefits. If we bring our cups to the Lord in prayer and Bible reading, He will fill them to overflowing as our Scripture in Psalm 23 tells us.

Let's name some of the things God puts in our cups.

II. Outline

A. The Cup of Salvation
This cup is offered to everyone. It is not reserved for special people. Read Psalm 116:13.

B. The Cup of Blessing
This cup is for believers. Read 1 Corinthians 10:16.

C. The Cup of Consolation
This cup is also for believers. Read Jeremiah 16:7.

D. A Cup of Refreshing
Read Matthew 10:42.

E. The Cup of Testimony
Read 1 Corinthians 11:25, 26.

III. Conclusion

Have you ever poured coffee or tea when someone said, "Just half-a-cup"? You are willing to fill the cup but its owner wants only a small amount.

When we come to Jesus in prayer or Bible reading, He wants to fill our cups to overflowing. Not only will there be enough for us, but it will spill out for others. We must wait in the presence of the Lord until we have received cups full of blessings. Then we can give to others.

Close by singing "Fill My Cup, Lord." Pray for requests.
